Custom FTP

For best search engine benefits we recommend FTP Blog Set Up. To use this option you must have an existing website and we must be provided with FTP access to your website server. Content management sites and those designed with templates will not have this set up as an option.

In Custom FTP Blog Set Up we will configure the Blogger platform to post and archive your blog posts on your web hosting server tied to your existing domain name. You will not be able to use the new Blogger widgets and dynamic template options when you use Custom FTP Blog Set Up, but you will have better search engine benefits with this option as well as allow your site search function if you have one to spider your blog posts as content and return blog posts for local site search queries. Custom FTP Blog Set Up due to the site and search engine benefits is our preferred blog set up method.

Blogspot Set Up Using a Custom Domain $199

We are currently doing a two month analysis period to determine if a blog owner will receive any website and search engine benefits when a blog is set up using Blogspot custom domains. We will post our white paper on this page when we have completed our analysis in the Fall of 2007. In the meantime, we are offering this option as it allows you to use all the new Blogger widgets and the new dynamic template functionalities. As all blog posts are archived on the Blogspot server, we do not know if sites using this method for blog post archiving will receive any search and site benefits that a site using Custom FTP Blog Set Up will earn.

To use the Blogspot Set Up Using a Custom Domain we must be able to access your domain's DNS records and be allowed to set up a CNAME record within the DNS manager. You will have storage space levels that you may not exceed when you use this option.

In our Blogspot Set Up Using a Custom Domain we will configure the Blogger platform for you and add the additional functionality to your template such as the Blogger Blog Roll, Google AdSense (if you have an existing account), news headline boxes, and other widget options. These options are quite nice and allow for the blog owner to add or remove modules at will and to change the blog look and feel even after we have added custom links back to the parent website.

Blogspot Blog Set Up

If you do not have a website, archiving your blog posts at Blogspot is a great option. You will have storage space levels that you may not exceed when you use this option. This is our least preferred blog set up approach.
